Trust & Safety

Helping You Explore with Confidence.

Meeting new people and attending new events should feel exciting—not uncertain.

At Tagalong, we’re committed to creating an environment where people can discover experiences, build connections, and participate in communities with greater confidence.

Safety isn’t a feature we added later. It’s part of how we designed the platform from the beginning.

Tagalong is built around one simple belief: Great communities are built on trust.

We combine thoughtful product design, community standards, reporting tools, and moderation to encourage respectful interactions and help create positive experiences for everyone.

While no online platform can guarantee the actions of individuals, we continuously work to reduce risk and provide tools that help users make informed decisions.

Know More Before You Go.

Unlike traditional event platforms, Tagalong helps you understand an event before you arrive.

Depending on the event, you may be able to:

  • See how many people are attending
  • Join the event conversation
  • View updates from the host
  • Learn more about the organizer
  • See activity leading up to the event

These features help reduce uncertainty and make attending feel more comfortable.

Stay Connected.

If you’re attending an event, Tagalong provides tools to help you stay informed throughout the experience. This includes:

  • Event announcements from hosts
  • Event updates
  • Event chat
  • Live event information
  • Community communication

These features help attendees stay connected with what’s happening before and during the event.

In the app

Safety Features.

  • Trusted Contacts

Choose people you trust and keep them informed when attending events. Trusted Contacts are intended to provide an additional layer of reassurance for users who wish to share their event plans with someone they know.

  • SOS Assistance

In situations where immediate help may be needed, Tagalong includes an SOS feature designed to help users quickly access emergency support options.

  • Live Location Sharing

Users can choose to temporarily share their live location with trusted contacts while attending an event. Location sharing is optional and always remains under the user's control.

  • Reporting Tools

If something doesn't feel right, you can report users, hosts, events, Event Updates, stories, and chat messages. Every report is reviewed by our moderation team.

  • Host Verification

Some organizers may be verified to help users identify hosts who have completed additional verification steps.

SOS is not an emergency service

Users should always contact local emergency services whenever immediate assistance is required.

What verification does and doesn't mean

Verification does not guarantee the quality of an event but provides additional context for attendees.

Building Respectful Communities.

Tagalong encourages respectful interactions across the platform. Our moderation process helps identify and address content or behavior that violates our Community Guidelines.

Where appropriate, we may remove content, issue warnings, suspend accounts, or permanently remove users from the platform.

Examples include

  • Harassment
  • Hate speech
  • Spam
  • Fraudulent events
  • Impersonation
  • Inappropriate content
  • Threatening behavior

Your Privacy Matters.

Your personal information belongs to you. We design our platform to give users control over what they share and with whom.

You can manage:

  • Profile visibility
  • Shared interests
  • Notification preferences
  • Communication settings
  • Privacy controls

For more information, please read our Privacy Policy.
